i'm going to be a high school freshman this fall, and i really wan to make a couple of good friends too. but the problem is, i'm pretty shy, and it's hard for me to talk to people openly. please can yu guys give me advice on how to make some friends? thanks for your help

I find it's best to try and be self confidant and then start conversations with people sort of randomly. Say you're sitting down and you notice another person looking at thier schedule, you can comment on one of thier classes, like, "Oh Mr. Whatshisface, he's tough." Or you could always just say "Hi my name is..." Probably most of your classmates are going to be just as nervous and anxious to make friends as you are.

I am really shy too. So what i did when i started school was join some kind of group (choir, basketball etc.) because then you will be with other people who share atleast one interest with you. I made a lot of friends from being in a group like that.

Act like ur self and open up 2 peolpe try to seem friendly 2 everyone and ur bound 2 make a couple of friends good luck

well...for start..you can do what i did....socialize...play some sports...i play volleyball...it's the easiest way to make friends...trust me...then..you could involve yourself in as many activities as you can...theater, sports, chorus, debate....whatever...you gain not only friends but also extra-curricular activities...;)...good luck!...and ...be yourself...trust yourself....

i'd say just be yourself if someone wants to be your friend then they will come to you or if you want to be someones friend ask them if they want to be friends with you
