I don;t think I've met any; although I know one or two people who went to school with Pete Doherty, not that that's anything to brag about. And as I used to be in the theatre, I know quite a lot of locally famous people. And my baby has been in the paper a few times if that counts! And I met a guy who was a Meatloaf tribute but apart from that, no proper famous people.

I met Duncan Goodyear (I think that is how it is spelt) the swimmer when I was 5 at Pontins in Camber Sands. I can't remember what he was doing, but it was in the swimming pool and i have a picture of me sitting on his lap. It was 21 years ago, now I feel old.
I also see Neil Kinnock getting off a train in Paddington Station, and the bloke that used to play Danny Glaze in the Bill in Ikea in Brent Cross.
my husband also saw Rolf Harris in Eton High Street and he told my husband that he was a good painter (he was painting a shop). He also pulled up along side Elton John's Rolls Royce in Old Windsor and he waved at my Husband. Apparently he was surrounded by Harrods bags.

I've met and spoken to Country Music Hall of Fame member (dare I say "Super Star") Merle Haggard, aboard the Ghan on a stop over in Adelaide,en route to Perth in February 1996 during his only Australian tour since being released out of San Quenton's "Big House" (Not that's got anything to do with coming to Australia,he needed the money).
In my life time I've met & spoken to Bill Haley (remember The Comets & "Rock Around The ClocK') back stage at his only S.A. performance in 1957. Also spoke to the Boss of The Blues too,Big Joe Turner (liked him) The Platters were not good mixers, possibly tiredness. Freddy Bell (of The Bell Boys) was a real party animal, who sang Hound Dog & influenced Elvis to record. And I've spoken on 2 seperate occossions to the late J.O'K. It's his nephew Daniel that presents "Deal Or No Deal" on Channel7. If you remember "The Penny Rockets" I knocked around with their bachup vocal group "The 4 Tones" Since The Penny Rockets broke up, leader Brian Penglase returned to live in Port Augusta. Know him & his wife Glenyis well. "The Music Man".

i used to be good friends with the singer Peter Cox. I knew him for a while before he hit it big with Go West. He used to sing in a band called Bodie who had a fantastic guitarist called Dave Woods. They used to support acts such as Budgie around the club circuit but Bodie got nowhere. Pete struck out on his own and hit the big time. I remember the singer Robert Palmer, sadly deceased now and himself an excellent singer, remarking that Peter had the best voice he had ever heard. Oh, and Peter still owes me a fiver, from the days when I used to lend him money and he was absolutely skint......!!

The most famous person I ever met was Richard Nixon, when he was vice president of the U.S. He flew to our air force base in Scotland and watched our children's Christmas program. Afterwards we all lined up on stage and then he gave out gifts to some, talked with some of us, shook hands with some of us.
He shook my hand and talked with me. So then, when he got to be president, and Watergate happened, I felt kind of bummed out that the only president I ever knew got impeached.
