i am really astounded that people would deprive a person of health care because they don't work. There are many people in this world that are unable to work due to being born with specific health problems. How are they suppose to pay for all the health care they will need over the years especially after their parents insurance runs out. I live in a country where health care is provided from the cradle to the grave, and no its not free, we all pay for it via national insurance which is our medical insurance this also pays for our social security benefits if we happen to need it. I don't have to worry about paying bills when ever i go to a doctor, or have to worry about paying for test, operations, or after care treatment. All i have to pay for at the time is prescription medicine. I don't not grudge anyone health care. Also, yes our health system is not the best in the world its run by to many managers and not enough medical staff but i would rather have that than nothing.

From the way you phrase the question, I assume you mean should basic health-care be publicly financed? If that is the question, then NO and I'll tell you just a few reasons why.
First, public financing of any endeavor involves waste, fraud and mis-management of resources ( remember the Pentagon's $200.00 toilet seats? ). Second, why should I as a male and not a father have to help pay for some woman's trips to the OB/GYN or the delivery room? Third, I don't want my taxes to increase exponentially to pay for smokers and obese people to get the health care they need because they are not taking responsibility for their own health.

Yes, but not just the basics, preventive medicine would save this country trillions of dollars. Just getting rid of the system would help, the insurance company's are gouging and gouging and take their profit out of the cost of health care would lower the amount of cost to the American people considerably.

Sure but the pharma and insurance companies have their choke holds on American politicians, Dems and Repubs alike. Don't fall for the partisan crapp and point fingers at the other side, it is corruption at it's finest and both parties are party to it. I assure you I am telling realistic facts here.

No...The Constitution does not give a right to health care. As with all other things, You must work, earn money, and pay for it.
Down with socialism! It is the freeloaders who make health care so expensive for the rest of us.
