I think we're capable of it; some men are great at communication. We need to practice at it. Get in tune with your feelings and your thoughts and it will come more naturally. The problem is that there's this stereotype going around that women express themselves better. There's no doubt that men approach conversations more on a practical level, like "what's the solution?" rather than sympathizing.

They don't know how. For the most part we as humans look up to our role models and try to portray what we see. So women grow up to act out emotions the way they see other women do it. And vice versa for men. If a young boy sees his older male role models view emotions as a sign of weakness then that would surely turn him away from expressing his feelings.
I believe that men have the same feelings as women do more than we think, but they just don't think it would be acceptable to express them the way we do. Even though it would be healthier for them.

Maybe men hold things in too much but women might let too much out. I saw a TV news story about a girl who was playing football--she really wanted to try out for the team and the team gave her the try out and something happened and she was crying. You can not cry on a football team. Whether its healthy or not, you bottle up whatever the disappointment is and let it out at an appropriate time and place.

Well, it is scientific proved that our brains do not work at at the same way. And men and women are raised differently, men not to cry, girls to be sensitive, men to protect, women to seek protection etc. Also women are raised to be altruistic and they focus more on people and analyzing people and men are more about things and they are trying to find out how things actually work (we can notice them from the way kids at the age 4-5 are playing). Girls-dolls, boys-cars, etc.

they do express themselves just in other subtle ways. if you are in a close relationship you will be able to communicate sometimes without saying a word. you would pick up on each other's vibe. or sometimes it could just be pride (the male ego) they want to appear strong. some how they identify emotions with weakness and silence with strength. when in my opinion being able to make oneself vulnerable is strong, that shows you are not afraid to open up, and express how you feel. no matter what comes next.

ITs mostly because of gener assignment and Socializing.
In my education courses, I was watching a video showing what happens when a mother leaves her boy and her girl in a room alone.
The girl babies remain collected and calm but the male babies start crying and become extremelly agitated.
It has allready been proved that males and females have different brain patterns, different thresholds of pain and different tolerances of stimuli.
Society socializes males into being cold and withdrawn. Coupled with the male's hormonal tendency to violent behavior and the male society's ridicule of males who express feelings, you end up getting men who are remorseless and arrogant.
Females are socialized to believe the are suppossed to show emotion.
This is one of the major reasons so much ridicule is pointed at females who show their anger (they are called c!tches and manly) and males who show emotions (are demsculinized and called "gay")
Its all because of societies values and norms.

Because they believe men aren't supposed to cry and expressing themselves make them soft. If you ask me that makes a real man. Believe me many men want to cry.

most of them don'y express their feelings as women
it may be related to hormones
but i guess man don't cry for example if sad so as not to appear weak while for women the weakness issue wont be a problem
on the other hand they exprss their anger by hitting some one if they are violent
so they do exprss thir feelings but just in a different way

scientifically females have more neural pathways and connective tissue between both sides of there brains then men do, making it easier for women to use one side to convey the thoughts of the other. Not making them more or less intelligent then a male, but making there feeling "feel" more real and physical.
