It's really amazing how badly some people can misunderstand simple statements. It's almost as if they put extra effort into creating their own twisted version just to be confrontational.
First, the US has a Department of Defense, not an Department of Invasion. It's not even called the Department of War anymore. What's it's job? To defend the US. Not to be some other country's police force.
Second, there are times when negotiating is better than just shooting at someone. Not always, granted, but sometimes. Someone who thinks that war is always the answer obviously hasn't figured out that war has never solved any problem in the history of the world. Sometimes it's necessary to get people to a place where negotiation can work. But by itself, it's never a solution.
Third, random violence never solved any problem. When force is the required, it should be used intelligently, not carelessly. Running mindlessly into battle is a good way to get people killed. Facing the enemy means first figuring out who the enemy is, then being applying reason and logic in developing a strategy. It's not cowardice to want to choose your battles carefully. Every competent leader knows that you don't waste your forces, and you don't commit to unwinnable battles. Custer learned the price of arrogance and stupidity at the Little Big Horn.
Our own Commander-in-Sheik is learning the price of stupidity and arrogance in the thousands of US lives that have been lost AFTER Saddam was already deposed.
Let's take Iraq as a concrete example. I think being in Iraq is a mistake. Now, I support our troops. I have several close friends and family that have been stationed in Iraq or other overseas wartime posts, and some who are going back there again. But supporting our troops also includes wanting them home safe, not choosing sides in a centuries-old civil war that will drag on for decades to come.
The purpose of the US military is to defend the US. Sometimes that means going overseas. But it doesn't mean wasting soldier's lives for purely political agendas that only end up hurting the US in the process. It's not cowardice to be intelligent.
And for the record, I'm not a Democrat. I just happen to agree with some of them on this particular issue.

For the same reason the Republican Party has become the party of Bullies. We can't seem to understand one basic premise of life: we are all weak, unintelligent, insecure human beings trying to "be something" we're not.
I don't think the Democrats run and hide from danger; millions of Democrats joined the Army to defend this country during WWII. because it was a legitimate war declared by Congress.
I think Republicans "face the evil in this world" by fabricating it and causing it to happen so that American capitalists can profit from the effects of 'war'.
We've invented the Korean Threat; the Cold War; the Vietnam Conflict; the Cuban Missile Crisis; Desert Storm, and the Iraqi Insurgency all for one reason: economic profitability.
War pumps up national America's national economy, and as long as it doesn't have to happen on U.S. soil, most American Presidents are all too happy to engage in such conflicts in the name of defending our freedoms.
Someday (and the sooner the better) a political party, without all the hatred, bias, and bigotry so infused within the Republicrats,
will loosen the stranglehold these two corrupt political parties have on our political system.

Republicans have their Rush Limbaugh and Shawn Hannity loudmouth propagandists to spew all their evil hyperbole, who conservatives will listen to and follow like lambs being led to slaughter. Democrats have their spineless leaders who preach equality and unity but are every bit as cowardly, gluttonous and corrupt as their Republican countrymen.
It's time for an American Revolution. -RKO-

You are right liberal dems ( mostly) do have a yellow streak that runs through them and it effects most of their views. Gun control , health care all the benefits of a socialist regime.
they hate the uniform-military and police!! It represents discipline
and self sacrifice and don't even talk about combat or jumping on a grenade even under the auspices of history. they become uncomfortable because this type of behavior is way beyond them.
Freedom is very expensive and so is good health care. I haven't met a liberal yet really willing to pay the price for either

Well well, another war mongering Republican....You know what Ive changed my mind I'm now on your side, lets break out the guns and and head out and start killing everybody that doesn't agree with us, It will be great nukes flying, bullets whizzing, bombs dropping, and people dieing, O yes indeed it will be great death and destruction to everyone who doesn't agree with America. God I love being a war mongering Republican, I just cannot get enough of the killing and destruction, in fact I like to keep a supply of puppy's on hand just in case I get that late night urge to kill something. Once we have killed all of our enemy's then and only then will we truly live in peace..............Whoa man, I think I just saw the world though a Republicans eyes... that was a scary nightmare mommy, Can you check to make sure there's no Republicans under my bed????....Sarcasm off..the end

The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics abbreviated to u.s. or the Soviet Union , develop right into a constitutionally socialist state that existed between 1922 and 1991, ruled as a unmarried-social gathering state with suggestions from the Communist social gathering with Moscow as its capital. A union of 15 subnational Soviet republics, its authorities and fiscal equipment were quite centralized.

Democrats seem like cowards when compared to murderous war-mongering repugs.
In fact repugs put Hannibal and Genghis Khan to shame.
Repugs are number one in the evil department.
I do not look to them as examples of desirable human behavior.

because the democratic party's purpose is to give the illusion of a balanced, two party system (which wouldn't even be balanced if that were the case) while the totalitarian dictatorship continues it's reign, unchallenged
