_____(NH4)2 Cr2O7 ----> _____N2 + ______Cr2O3 + ____H2O

This is the equation you meant to write.

Count the atoms on each side but leave H for 2nd to last and O for last:

N = 2 on left and 2 on right (balanced)
Cr = 2 on left and 2 on right (balanced)
H = 8 on left and 2 on right Put a "4" in the blank on right to balance
O = 7 o left and with the "4" you put on the right it now equals 7

The equation is balanced.
