But mean while, and going through some of the answers to this question, I was surprised that few of them mention that " Hezbollah " hides behind innocent civilians !!!
Well, Israel with its brutal attacks on Lebanon,did not leave an
" innocent civilian " alive now for Hezbollah to hide behind now,for the latest figure of the dead ones has acceded 750 and counting.
No one cared to mention that the Israelis are hiding too ???
Their Army has failed to face Hezbollah on the land - even with their best of the best ( the Gholani Squad ) - So what do they do ? They HIDE in their fighter jets,bombing anything they see,because they know that they can not be reached up there.

It's horrible when innocent people and especially children are killed. What makes it even worst that Hezbollah fires it's rockets and then hides behind those children and hopes that they are killed just to make a media event. It's also very interesting that when something like this happens, the muslim leaders around the world are up in arms...but when a terrorist straps him/herself with bombs and blows up innocent people and children those same leaders are either silent, or they blame Israel and America. It is time for Israel to go in and do what the rest of the world is too afraid to do, and that is put an end to the cowards known as Hezbollah. By the way, Hezbollah has been shelling and killing Irsaelis for years and when Isreal responds Hezbollah starts crying like the cowards they are and asks the rest of the world to step in and help them. What did they want? They tried to provoke Israel, and when Israel responds they announce publicly that there will be "surprises" and they are ready for an"open war" with Israel. Then after a day or two of having their butts handed to them they beg for the rest of the world to help them. Cowards of the worst order. The entire world should hope that Israel finishes their mission and accomplishes their goals.

Hezbollah went into an Israeli post and murdered 8 soldiers and kidnapped two, their stated goal was to barter for other prisoners. the premise was wrong. You can't kill and kidnap to barter. Why? Because you are breaking the law. Under UN resolution 1559 Hezbollah was not even suppose to be there. That is the Lebanese gov's fault. Israel has the land it has now because it was given to it by the British government in 1948. what happened? well the arab peoples living there who were bombing the british fought the new government and were defeated. what has Israel done lately? It gave back land to syria-lebanon (s defensive position nonetheless), it gave egypt the sinai, and its tried to work with Palestinians (really jordanians but thats another dicussion) to create a state until hamas (another terrorist organization) won elections there. hamas's goal is the destruction of the state of israel, how can you help people that seek your destruction?

I just wonder why some people close their eyes to the truth.
Devil lives in Israel! Actually, they have this crazy belief that this land is theirs, even though their messiah hasn't come yet and they cannot claim it as their land until he comes. So technically, they shouldn't even be there. The only reason they're still alive is because the US backs them up. Otherwise, the Germans or the Arabs would have wiped them off the face of this earth. They're horrible people. They bombed hospitals, escape roads, airports, bus stations. They bombed civilians trying to escape in cars and buses, and they bombed a PREDESIGNATED UN PEACEKEEPING LOOKOUT! All that over two soldiers? Yes, I must admit that Hezb-allah is retaliating, but what would you do if bombs are being dropped over your head. You'd fight back any way you can.

I think you are entitled to your own opinion but I think it the issue is more complex than that. Israel did have buffer zones in the north and the south. The Israeli government started to give those areas back to the Palestinians and the Palestinians responded by continuing to terrorize the Israelis.

Lebanon, in my opinion failed in its duty as a nation to control thugs living in its country and is now suffering for it. The bombing of bridges and roadways is to prevent the resupply of Hezbollah and Hamas. And is tactically sound in order for the Israelis to protect themselves.

Hezbollah deliberately fires its rockets from civilian occupied areas praying that Israel while bomb them and then they can go to the media and cry, "Oh look at all the innocent civilians being killed by Israeli bombs" Hezbollah are cowards and hypocrites.

Sadly the world news keeps looking to the United States and the West to end this - as though Israel and Lebanon were children whose mothers must step in and settle the disagreement for them.

I am sickened by reports that women and children are being used as 'human shields' in order to justify the loss of innocent civilian lives! And I'm also afraid that most aren't looking at this objectively at all! It's NOT defense when it's this offensive to human life!
