How do you cut a bearded dragon's nails? Can I just use human nail clippers? How short can I cut them and are their nails like a dog's in the respect that if you cut them too much they will bleed?

Yes, if you cut them too much they would bleed. You have to be very careful because their nails are dark and you can't see where the quick is. I would use a human nail clipper or a nail file to just nip off the very end of the nail and file it down so it is not sharp. If you want more taken off, take it to a vet who can do a nail trim for usually under $15. Have some styptic powder on hand (or cornstarch, in a pinch) in case you do make him bleed. Good luck!

They do make special reptile clippers, which I do believe they are similar to dog/cat clippers. And yes, just like dogs you can't cut them all the way. You can only clip the clear part of the nail. Once you see the dark part, which is called the quick, stop there, else your dragon will begin to bleed. If that happens you'll need to stop the bleeding.

I use dog clippers. They are designed specifically to clip claws off of dogs. These in combination with a nail file work well, just be sure you don't take off part of a toe while you're at it.
