I was 19. I'm divorced now, at 30. Hindsight's always 20/20-- we were too young, not prepared for the pressure we faced, and it all (being in school, having a baby, working three jobs, etc.) blew up in our faces. Though we tried mightily for awhile, it was just too much to deal with, on top of the fact that we each had stuff of our own to deal with, as well. Even if you think you're mature for your age, as people often think I am, the truth is, maturity is only part of the marriage game, and we didn't have enough of the other parts. So it didn't work out. But that doesn't mean that it can't for anyone else. My advice? Know full well what you are getting into, before you get into it, and then prepare yourself for a bunch of stuff you thought could never happen. You still won't be completely prepared, but you might be better prepared than I was.

I was 17 years old and my girl friend was 16 going on 17 we got married because she was pregnant and I went into the service after i finished high school so we could support our selves, Not like most couples I know of but we were maried for 27 years, She died in an Auto wreck a few years ago but I have the best beautiful children out of our happiness together, and wouldn't take back anything to replace all those years we were together then. She was my best friend in the world and gave me the best years of her life together with the best looking children too.

I got married just before my 28th birthday, to my childrens father, we have a great marriage, and it was the first marriage for both of us. We have 2 lovely kids, and we are best friends. When you get married, dont get married for love, and definitely dont get married for the sex! Get married only when you found someone you can get along with like your best friend, it is for life, and you'll have your ups and downs but if you have a strong friensdhip it will pull you through anything.

23 - I thought I was all grown up and knew everything

Still married now for 11 years, but if one of my kids wanted to get married that young, I would warn him/her (I have one of each) about how much change you go through in your 20's and early 30's and how difficult it is to stick it out...no matter how great things are when you first got married. Most of my friends who married as young as I did are already divorced.

The first time I was 23. Too young and naive to be getting married, especially to the a**hole I married! I divorced him and moved on. I am engaged again and hope to be married in another year (I am 41).
