Well, wouldn't it make more sense if they were called "Holls"? Not funny, but I'm just saying.
But then, people from Poland could possibly be called Polanders, couldn't they?
Incidentally, there really isn't a connection between Holland and Dutch, is there? I think that other person is right. Given the pattern, maybe they SHOULD be called "Putch".

Because it`s POLand ans HOLLand ,they`d have to be HOLLs not HOLEs. LOL

There are 2 "Ls" in Holland, so there is no parallel arguement to call them HOLES!

For same reason that people from Lapland are called Laps, while peole from Greenland are NOT called Greens I suppose!!!!!!
