You failed to note if the foreclosure was on your home or other real property. Assuming it is your home, the only way is to stop the sheriff sale is correct the deficiency of the mortgage default prior to the sale or pay the debt in full.

Farther removed from possibility is that if you were not provided constructive notice of the deficiency and sufficient time per the note terms you may have some but not likely recourse. Consult an attorney for your legal status and rights.
