After a CT scan, the brain looks the same as it did before. After a stroke, there are "cold" areas in the brain that weren't present before, usually corresponding to the areas that control lost functions that were damaged by the lack of oxygen and blood flow.

I've had lots of cats... one time we had six of them, but we didn't feel weird about it, because our neighbor had nine dogs. With all that barking going on, no one even noticed that we had a few extra cats in the house. They were really quite, and were really quite fun to have hanging around, but they really didn't do much of anything. If they ever scanned our brains, we were completely unaware of it.
