Why is it that "goth" people complain about "preps" being superficial but "goths" judge way more than any "prep" that i've been around?

EXACTLY!! My feelings exactly! You know what's funny? Groups like goths, punks, etc. who are fighting the mainstream and say they don't want people to care about the way they look and think other groups are superficial are such hypocrites, seeing as they put WAY more time and effort into their appearance than most people! I mean, how long must it take to put on all that makeup every morning, and come up with those elaborate outfits?

Goth people only judge when you give them a reason to, Preps judge just by the way you look... if you're not rich and perfect you're basically a nobody to preps (which is why I hate them) and I'm not goth, Goth's are made out to be total outcasts, So why should they not judge others the way their judged just by their appearance?

Every group,on this earth thinks that the next group judge more than their own group, I have been on here for a while and this is the first time that I saw a question like this one and guess what? you are not goth.............right???
See this is it all humans want to feel apart of some group, now if someone down the lane is not part of your group than something is wrong with them.
I thought goth stayed away from preps or whatever, so how would you know that they were talking about you, if you were not talking about them first?

probably because goths have seen some pretty nasty things that preps dont even know exist. So goths say that they are superficial, in my opinion, because of their "ignorance". They always paint the pretty picture, while goths have experience the darker side of the 'pretty picture'.

You're right, goth's are the same. They'll accuse preps of being stuck up brats yet they'll pay $50 for a black t-shirt from Hot Topic..with their allowance. They just want to make it more then clear that they are rebelling.

Just as within and social group, you have miscreants. However, groups like Goths, etc. are mostly full of adolescents trying to figure out their own identities. This is classic if you look at the Ayran Nation; they tend to drive a wedge into the diffrences within people to build their own power base. The leaders of these groups understand this. In my opinion, it's for those who yet to have fully matured into adulthood, and part of that is figuring out on your own just what is your real identity.

OMG I could NOT agree with you more!! I'm always saying that!! it pisses me off.
And then they say that "they are so orignal and not followers" but theres like 12 of them dressed the same exact way!!!
They are 10 times worse than a prep.
If you were REALLY gothic, you wouldnt give someone a dirty look because they are dressed as a "prep", you wouldnt care what anyone else dressed like.

goths are tedious bores. they bang on about how individual they are and how everyone else all dress the same yet they all dress up in their identikit clothes and why are all goth chicks fat and goth dudes skinny? whats that all about eh? eh?
