I wouldn't give money. I'd give foodstuffs that I purchased because I don't want my money being used on drugs, alcohol or cigarettes. I once had a homeless person who was begging for money refuse a candy bar and asked for the money instead. Beggars should not be choosers.

Most poorer people are obese. Twinkies are far cheaper per calorie than fresh fruit, vegetables, and other nutritious meals. So it stands to reason a homeless person could be fat.

No, I would buy them good foods for most starches are cheap which can cause fat and ill health. I would rather buy food then give money.

Always be helpful to the less fortunate. Show the quality of mercy. They may have just been put out. What you YOU want to happen if you were that person? What would you want to tell God if he asked you why you wouldn't help?
