How long does it it take baby fish to grow?

How long will it take my baby fish (fry), to grow large enough that I can place them back in the tank with the mother and father. They are swordtails.

As long as they are bigger than their parents mouth, try to have thick vegetation in ur tank, so the young ones can hide. I used to feed my babies swordtails with dry food first, till they grow a bit, I feed them with chopped tubifex worms, they grow quite fast. Swordtails are hardy fish, easy to breed, low death rate, soon u will have a tankfull of them. If u dont want to have that many, keep the sexes apart.

A few weeks probably, maybe just over a month. They only have to be large enough to not fit in the parents' mouths. Also, make sure they are too large to fit into the filter so they don't get sucked up!

As long as they're bigger than the mouths of the fish they'll be with it's ok. As for growth rate it depends on temperature, food and water quality. Frequent water changes would allow the fish to grow faster.

depends on how much room they have, food qualty.
but as long as they are bigger than the biggest adults mouth they will be fine.
my guppies usualy take 3-4 weeks (they have a sepret nursy tank and get fed 2 a day)

if your not sure just drop one in and see if it survives

i'm hoping so, yet they'll desire a nutrition source after a pair of days. Finely overwhelmed up flakes, bits of egg yolk, or fry nutrition from the puppy shop. the toughest will stay to tell the tale.

at least 4 months, that way the mother and father won't eat them.
