In every movie people can always just walk right in....

Maybe the skeletons hide the key in the closet? But you're right, the door's always open on the darned things, until they get inside, then WHAM, it's locked tighter'n Fort Knox.

Even if they were locked ghosts and goblins don't need a key. I don't think that they are unlocked in every movie but I can't really think of one that was locked right off hand.

It is a practical decision taken by the directors and producers of such movies.
If the doors were locked
most part of the movie will have to center around breaking and entering charges etc...

only then can the scary stuff begin...

oh, one last thing - who is to say how many of the actor's bail applications failed

If a movie is focused around ghosts, spirits, goblins, demons...etc, then the lack of "realism" of a door being unlocked certainly shouldn't bother you.
