Smut is an empty activity.
From a cognitive point of view, the more attention we dedicate to a particular activity or set of concepts, the more elaborate our schema of these concepts become. Also, the more connected these concepts become, existing connections strengthen and new relations form within our thinking.
Given this, and probably a generally identifiable level of what smut entails, the more time a person spends attending to smut, the more likely this category of information is displacing other attentions such as personal development, capabilities of critical thought, questions of the utility of narcissistic pursuits to which they would otherwise feel entitled to and so on.
Moreover, this kind of activity creates the false sense that everyone else engages in the same. They don't. A strong suggestion that this is all true is the unqualified belief that all people must read and need porn and all intimacies must be publicly celebrated or perversion or oppression will always emerge.
Wake up and realize that you can cultivate your attention and behavior.
At the very least, grow up and find something better with your time.

What is smut? Is that the dirt from inside the chimney's? OH NO that is soot.
I like smut, and all normal people do too, even if they say they don't or ACT like it's disgusting.
Put them in a room with it playing on a monitor and see if they all don't get hot and wet!!!
Yep you would too, unless you have a psychological problem...
After reading your answers to that you are giving out...
You must be a psycho-chic or just some kid having fun stirring up trouble.
I would go with the kid stirring up trouble.
Why would I go with that one?

You'd really have to give your definition of "smut". It's such a subjective term.
