What I am saying is, that imigrants want to become citizens of the U.S. to be with family or to get a better job, and by getting married to an american citizen it is a little easier. So if they did so after the alotted time, then they can get divorced. So do you believe that is why the divorce rate has increased?

That situation has been around for generations. I don't think it really adds that much to the divorce rate. I think the reason the rate of divorce keeps increasing is that traditional family values are no longer being taught at home. People's lives have become so self-centered that if they have a little problem with the marriage they just divorce. They don't take the time to fix what is wrong. It has been said that we are a 'throw-away' society aand marriage has gone that way, too.

Another problem is that the people who throw away on marriage when the going gets tough tend to marry again. As soon as the 2nd marriage gets rough they divorce again. It is a vicious cycle.

The only way to stop this is for people to raise their children to respect their partners. They need to know that there are good time and bad times in a marriage and to keep working through the bad times.

I'm sorry but that is an ignorant question! If you knew anything at all about citizenship, besides what you have seen in the movies, you would not be asking this quesitons. Yes, a LONG LONG time ago that was how it worked, however, for an even longer time things have been different. My husband happens to be an immigrant. We did not marry so he could become a citizen. We married because we love eachother. To become a citizen it takes several thousands of dollars, a mountain of paperwork, and usually the individual must return to their home country for a while first. It is not an easy process, if it were as simple as a marriage certificate, then their wouldn't be any illegal immigrants left. If they are determined enough to risk their lives to be free from oppression and starvation, etc, don't you think they would have figured that one out by now!!! Shoot if that were the case a woman could make good money marrying immigrants for citizenship, LMAO!!!

No, that doesn't happen very often. I believe divorce rates are increasing because women often don't need men to support then like they use to back in the 1920's or whatever. Getting married isn't as nessacary as it was back in the day. It is often done because most people have dreams of finding the right person, but because we live in a quick fix society divorce is often considered as more of an first option now that before. IF you want to make it work with someone you must commit yourself, and make sure you are marrying the right person before getting engaged.

I doubt that is really any serious increase in the rate we are seeing - i believe it is more the falling away from morals, commitment, family traditions, and our Christian hertiage (as a country)... people think nothing (in general) of throwing away a marriage before trying to save it - or aborting an unwanted or inconvenient baby - or looking at suicide as an option for those terminally ill... if it's inconvenient, costly, causes unpleasant feelings - we don't want it - as a culture and a country. Shame on us for turning our backs on those who need us and for weaking our values and morals to this level - may we take heed and take a stand for devotion to life, family, and protecting what in life matters - not the wallet - checking account or pride!

The time is ripe for the regulation abiding electorate of united states of america of america to upward push IN potential AND FLEX slightly MUSCLE AND TAKE some RIGHTS FOR OUR very own!! we've a usa TO TAKE back FROM THE BANKER DICTATORS. Making it unlawful just to get extreme isn't basically completely without reason, yet is largely a ability of having legally spawned skill and leverage over the human beings who use it. there is a lot they are able to apply against those human beings alongside with fairly whilst they are employing for a activity!! i think of we'd desire to continuously harm people who refuse to decriminalize it and we incriminate the incriminators and see how they like it! BLOOD FOR BLOOD! Then issues might exchange because of the fact in Washington and in different bigger places of work might desire to is nice.
