Im looking to buy a surfboard as a gift for someone, I am clueless. She is a relative beginner. I live in cornwall, where is the best place to buy them? What am I looking for? What sort of price range?

Cornwall, you are probably surrounded by these shops. Newquay seemed to be the hotspot for surfers

Go to one of the smaller local shops, for example Perran Surf at Perranporth and have a word with them, they should be able to point you in the right direction. If you are further east, then maybe FCS on the way to Plymouth? Anyway go to a smallish shop and have a word they are usually pretty helpful and hopefully will have somebody there who knows their stuff.

ps

Newquay sucks
