I remember reading an article before regarding the difference between aquariums and aquaria. But unfortunately, I cannot recall what the difference is.

Does anyone know the difference between the two terms?

For day-to-day use, nothing. For a finer point of english Aquaria is more than one of the same type of aquarium, a plural of a singular. Whereas aquariums is more than one of several different types of aquarium. It's a plural of a plural.

In the same ways as one tuna is a fish, twenty tuna are fish, all the species on one reef are fishes.
