Noticed on the news when it comes to interviewing officials, political or military, they sound as if they come from america. Can anyone explain this?

Same as every body else that wants to speak another language,
you listen to the news,television,radio, all the English ones are usually in American.
also probably educated from an American??.
All the Germans that i know in Stuttgart,speak with an American accent, as there is an American barracks down there.
In the north they speak with an English dialect, as there is many English barracks there.or consulates.??
possibly he was subject to the same conditions.???

There is a high population of Jews in the US, and that is where all the money is. Jews feel the land which Israel covers is the Jewish 'homeland', so many like to emmigrate there. I don't believe they need a visa.
Protecting their 'homeland' seems to be a pre-occupation of many, so I'm not surprised that any US-raised Jews that have a military career feel they have a duty to go there.

Cultural hegemony. US TV and music spans the globe, plus lots of internationally-minded people spend time in the US, hence they speak like an American. They won't know they have an accent.
I deal with a lot of foreigners - when I speak with my English accent they struggle to keep up. If I speak with a fake American accent, they understand. It really galls me.

I don't know. Maybe for the same reasons some people educated in London have British accents? I am guessing they probably learned English by living in that country. Many Arabs do it too.

Simple- many are Americans who moved to Israel, or were educated here.

God knows! They do seem to maybe its something to do with the way they were brought up. maybe they were educated that way or their parents made them talk like that or their friends talk like that.
