every time my boyfriend senses the slightest bit of hunger or lack of sleep, he's basically a jerk. any other time, he's fine. is this normal? does anyone else have this problem? and if so, does it bug you too?

Hey -- my girlfriend is exactly the same way, so no, you are not alone.

If you sense he's getting that way, stop trying to discuss anything important with him and take what he says with a grain of salt. If he's being a jerk, make one concerted attempt to get him fed or get him more sleep -- if it doesn't help or he won't go along, make yourself scarce.

You're a free and independent human being, and you don't have to put up with being mistreated. Once he's eaten, slept, and had some time to cool his jets, he'll be okay.

Good luck!

My ex did this but it reminded me of a dog, like the actual animal, so much that I dumped him. It wasn't just crankyness, it was the way he would treat me as if his hunger or tiredness was MY fault. I just couldnt' take the constant blame. But now I'm raising a Guide Dog puppy and he gets THE SAME way...haha.. At least he IS a dog. Good luck!! Try to keep a snack and small pillow w/you. Otherwise, tell him what he's doing to your feelings. Tell him you dont' like it. I'm sure if he cares about you, he'll grow up a bit!

I am the cranky one with my hubby when I'm hungry, and yes it bothers him.

I just have a low tolerance for hunger and it puts me in a lot of pain and discomfort when I'm hungry. Of course it's hard to be happy and sunshiny when you are in pain. I always keep granola bars around just in case. Have him always carry around snacks, sleep enough and then make clear to him that he has no right to be a jerk to you, that you didn't do anything wrong.

Yes I do. She gets real cranky when she's tired or just wakin up. I realize that it's a facet of her personality and love that part about her too. The slightest crankiness is expected.

Its 100% normal. There is nothing you can do about it... LOL. Women are basically the same, whenever we get hungrey or someone messes with us when we are tired.. we get upset, but we get over it... so don't take this too personal you just gotta keep your man full of energy and food!!!

hooch, yes I think most men are that way. but not all. My husband would be except I keep him fed, as for sleepiness, all he does when not at work. is lay on the couch, that is his second job. But I don't mind. it is ok with me. I'am usualy on yahoo any way , unless I go check on him. he is my big teddy bear. We disagree at times but thats married life. then we agree that it is ok . so all is fine here. hope you and yours the best.
we all get cranky at times it's human nature,

tell your boyfriend to eat and get some sleep before he come over to visit. otherwise you aren't going to be bothered.

my ex was like that, and i have found out that most men are like little kids, when they have pain, they whine and whimper.

that would get on my nerve. it is something about the male species.

good luck with him
