Hands
Hands express many things
Sorrow gladness and fear.
Hands can push someone away
Or hold them very near.
Hands create beautiful things
And some hands can destroy.
Hands can spank a naughty child
Or mend his broken toy.
But there’s another use for hands
Which everyone can afford.
That’s when you reach out and say
Please, take my hand Lord.

I use my hands to raise in prayer.
To ask for answers when I feel despair.
To wipe a tear from my daughter's cheek.
To count to five when I've reached my peak.
To hold utensils when I eat a meal.
To caress my mate and cop a feel.
To snap my fingers when I hear a good beat.
To tie the shoes that cover my feet.
So many uses for just two average hands.
Expected to do all things and meet all demands.
So I continue to use my hands to raise in prayer
to ask for answers when I feel despair.

my hands are used to get me from here to there
they are used to push my wheelchair
my hands are used to keep from taking a fall
without my hands i could not stand 5' 3'' tall
my hands hold onto the broom
you know i need to sweep the room
my hands are used to make prayers and wishes
because i have a sink full of dishes
my hands are used to open my mail
because i need to pay my bills to no avail
my hands are used to type on my computer
because that is the way i can be Internet commuter
