Anybody can be racist! A black person can be racist and prejudiced just like anybody else. I think prejudice and racism go along hand in hand. The only difference is that unlike racism, prejudice can be over anything such as religion, political views...sexual preference...not just race.

Of course black people can be racist. If they are prejudiced against a race or group of races then they are racist.

there is nothing magic about black people to make them any better then anyone else who does the same thing.

It really depends on how you define "racism." If you simply define it as "the belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others" (as defined on dictionary.com), then yes, Black people (and other people of color) can be racist. However, if you define "racism" as "a system of advantage based on race" (as defined in "Portraits of White Racism" by David Wellman) in which it's not just a personal ideology, but a system involving cultural messages and institutional policies and practices, then the answer is no. In that case, people of color can't be racist because they don't systematically benefit from racism.

So in a nutshell, everyone can harbor prejudices, but whether or not a person of color can be racist depends on your definition of racism.

Prejudiced simply means they favor one group over another, in thier eyes they are better or more worthy. I am prejudiced towards my own kids.... duh.
Racist is hatred towards a group in it's entirety. Like hating all people who wear red shirts, no matter who they are or what they are about.
So yes, anyone can be racist, anyone can be prejudiced. If you happen to have brown skin and call yourself "black" and you hate all those with "white" skin, then you are racist. If you feel they are all out to harm you, you are racist. If you prefer to date those with a similar skin tone, they you are prejudiced. You have not discounted others simply because of skin color, you just have a preference and choose them exclusively to date or be friends with.
I personally like colorful people, but I hate those who hate others. That includes people with skin and prejudices just like mine, but if they choose to hate everyone who is, say, Mexican just cuz they happen to have a Mexican heratige I want nothing to do with them.

Racist-The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others

Prejudiced-An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts

As you can see, the two are different. Anyone of any race can be either of them.

Since most hate crimes are comitted by blacks, that would be hard core racism:

http://www.amren.com/997issue/997issue.html

These choice quotes of statistics reveal the harsh truth. Blacks regularly target whites and hispanics for violence because of racism. Not the, insult the other person type of racism but the hate the person so much you stab them kind of racism.

A black is 103 times more likely to rob a white than
vice versa.

But practically no one even knows that blacks are 50 to 200 times more likely than whites to attack someone of the other race.

Blacks are thus approximately 40 times more likely to rape whites than vice versa.

which means that a black was about 15 times more likely to kill a white than vice versa.

we find that blacks were 1.99 times more likely than whites to commit hate crimes in general and 2.24 times more likely to commit violent hate crimes

Blacks can be just as racist any another ethnic. Problem is, they spend so much time accusing everyone else of it they don't realize how ignorant it makes them look.
