In less than 500,000 years the earth will be unhabitale for any life. With in 500 years at the rate we are going it will be uninhabital for humans. If the temperature rises by 20 degrees with-in 50 years as current computers predit than this will be a hellish planet to live on. Some places will be steaming jungles of the like we have never seen with what animals left feeding on anything and anyone, while most areas will be vast deserts of which no one can live with little or no water.
The United states will have temperate zones of small narrow stretches of hot humid forest areas with the rest mass desert land, and our montain areas will look a lot like alfganistan.

"Nothing lasts forever." I think just about everyone would agree with that. Whether it's a mountain, a mole-hill, a distant star... all things eventually fade and are no more. As impermanent beings ourselves, we know and ungracefully accept this fact. One day, the end will come for our friends, our family, our neighbors, and even for ourselves. Yes, even the world, itself will one day stop spinning on its familiar axis.

The question is, "How soon?"

That's a toughie for a lot of people. According to science, our planet has a good five billion years before the warrantee on our sun runs out. At which point, it will expand to a Red Giant, engulfing Earth and the other inner planets and become far more cost-effective to replace than repair. Especially when one considers that the entire Universe only has a scant ohh, fifteen, sixteen trillion years to expand beyond all conceivable reason before it runs out of steam and starts collapsing back in on itself.

Unless everyone starts using renewable energy and cuts down on pollution, then < 100 years. However, the ancient Mayans predict that some shift will occur December 23, 2012 (the end of their calendar). It could be the end of the world as we know it due to human action, or it could be a giant asteroid collides with us and kills most or all humans off. It could just be an "awakening" for humankind, like entering a new age. They predicted several other major events/asteroid collisions historically. Pretty interesting stuff!

No, the world will live on for about 60 billion years until the sun goes novae, unless a huge asteroid comes along and smacks it into the sun before that. Whether there will be intelligent life or not is another matter, However, the crap that is going on in the middle east right now has been going on since Mohammed decided to kill everybody who did not join his cult.

IN CASE YOU HADN'T NOTICED, World War Three began YEARS BEFORE 9/11, when Arab terrorists attempted to topple the World Trade Towers by exploding a truck bomb in the WTC underground parking garage. They didn't succeed THAT time, but they lived to try again.

And the war they started in the Near East is a fight to the death. The death of ARAB society, or the death of WESTERN society.
THESE ARE THE END OF DAYS. READ PSALM #83, written about 3,000 years ago.

the world is never actually going to end. if you are a believer of Christ, then you know He will be arriving soon, and He will take care of things. He will make Heaven on Earth and it will be 1500 miles by 1500 miles and the light will be natural. It will be made of precious stones, etc, and will be inhabited by all who made it to Heaven. God will never destroy the earth but will make it new again. He will undo all of the damage that we have done to it. I don't think the world is coming to an end, but I do think that Christ is coming soon. And that is my opinion.

If people dont start changing they're habits that affect the world it will end sooner than you think. I dont think it will last more than 300 more years.
