Are the stars really ugly?

It seems like anyone who gets thrown on the cover of the national enquirer is all of a sudden the hottest thing on the planet. I feel like if hollywood says that someone is beautiful then society just follows and agrees. It's like nobody has their own personal opinion of what beauty is any more. I think that if they took a ugly crack head off the corner throw some make-up on her did her hair and throw her on the cover of a magazine and on entertainment tonight that everyone would want to look like them. This annoys me so bad does anyone agree? Opinions?

i totally agree especially about fixing up the crack head i think the stars and the hoopla behind them are way over rated like the women look like the Jews in concentration camps.and the bot ox and boob jobs jeez i haven't seen one yet that looks natural it is affecting the young girls as young as 6 to think that is how they should look and gives them a poor look on their body image i think it also gives young men a poor perception on women . the grossest one to me that comes to mind is Brittany spears she always looks like she doesn't take a bath even on stage i mean really observe her yuk nasty and shes so cool and sexy wowowowowwwww shes a dog i see so many naturally beautiful women and men in the real world it makes me think how society is so obsessed with how they look and how insecure influences a person allows them to feel about the way they look and should look to be accepted. its more so with our kids in today's world (I'm a baby boomer) i think media and Hollywood are most to blame .

I know it bothers you, but why do you care?

If it's really that annoying, then just ignore it. As long as you have your opinions, that's all that counts.

Just because someone is slapped onto to the front cover of any magazine, doesn't mean I suddenly like them. So, to answer your question, not everyone is easily persuaded. And I do agree.

(Hehe) If my husband read this (he's out at the moment) he'd want to come right over and shake your hand! I certainly agree with you too and it pleases me no end that there are other intelligent, thinking individuals out there, who realizes that sometimes, its not what you are skilled in, its who you know, or how low you can go. Take Jordan for example, she has ABSOLUTELY no talent other than having been able to afford a couple of plastic boobs which she flashes all over England's media ( i dont think there's anyone in the uk who hasnt seen her naked plastics b4) but she's in almost every sleazy (and sometimes so-called good magazines too). Then there's Paris Hilton who's so bored with herself, she has to use her riches to take up (useful) space in the music industry, and make a complete fool of herself. Then there's J-Lo who can act a bit (although that chipmunk song where she walks in the snow is a real killer) she judges her fame by displaying just how wide she can really open her legs for the camera, just for a tease. Please, is there any other real people like us around? oh wait, i nearly forgot to add, that, YES, they look haggard without make up, my gosh, they make ordinary people like me look like Venus without any make up! yup, sometimes the glamour magazines show us titbits, so, dont despair, KNOW that they have to cake themselves in polyfilla and keep their plastic surgeons smiling all the way to the bank, to pull off their tricks *wink* ^5 Whizzdom
