So now everyone who's not "extremely beautiful (industry standard beautiful, that is?) is not only "normal" (which I always called plain) but now they are completely unattractive.
I agree with ETHAN. Perhaps it's better to say "unnoticed". I mean, I've always hated that people flock to my looks first (they don't even care about YOU just what you represent to them, which is always "another beautiful face") but now, the other extreme is that if I were unfortunate enough to be not quite as beautiful then I am now "ugly". OH well, whatever, I like the way I am inside and out so who cares? that never would get to me anyway but still, someone out there is going to have a complex over that word "ugly". And call me a "dumb blonde" if you want (because I don't get this part of the quote at all) but Beauty being in the eyes of beholder, it is weird for normal to be ugly if Normal is the "extreme beauty" or is "extreme beauty" above the norm? Huh? I guess I am not getting this one fast enough.

I would rather say this way: "In the world of extreme beauty normal faces go unnoticed." This sounds lot better because a good quote is one that makes sense without having to use any audacious words like "ugly" which you have used in there.

it means that normal is relative.
In a world of extreme beauty, it is the norm to be extremely beautiful.

It means most of us have a completely unrealistic idea of what it takes to be considered beautiful. Very few people are happy with how they look because we have been so brainwashed by the media as to what beauty is.

It means exactly what it says. Plain or average looking girls are now ugly. Models/actresses/singers on tv, magazines, and the internet are pretty.
