I wan't to clean the sticky stuff you get on the covers of books and cd's when you remove the price sticker.
what is the best stuff to use so as not to damage the book covers.

I don't think I can get goo gone where I am, Xox.
I can do my plastic cd covers in soap and water, Innocent so i'll give you best answer for giving me the cheapest/easiest option...

actually if you can, just get a napkin and soak it in soapy (use dishwashing soap) water and then place it on top of the sticky stuff (that's for objects you can't soak in water. if you can soak the object in water, just go right ahead) after a while, it should soften it up and you can scratch it right off.

go to the store and buy a bottle of Goo Gone (that's the actual product name). It removes the sticky stuff that's left behind when you peel off a label.

Alcohol is a common house hold cleaner that won't melt most plastics like acetone.

never use acetones but you should try alcohols as ethanol or isopropanol, but if you use acetone it will attack plastic and will form sticky layer of adhesive and mark on the plastic

maybe acetone, not sure if it will work
but you can put talc on it and then peal it off it should b ok
