@ = "Ampersand" or "at"
# = "pound" to an American, "hash" to many others, "gate" to an old Telex operator... :-)
! = "shriek", or "bang"

"@" is called the "at" sign. Used in e-mail like person@domain.com and read "person at domain dot com".

"#" is called the "pound" of "hash" sign. Can be used in a weight to indicate pounds (5# means a weight of 5 pounds).
