It was recorded by a woman. She sings about a Sailor. Sailor sailor, and Seaman Seaman in German & English I heard it often when we visited my Grandfather in Ridgewood NY 50 years ago. Can't seem to locate anyone who remembers this one.

The song is called "Seamann" aka "Zeemann" the most favorite female vocalist of this song was by Caterina Valente. Its been recorded by dozens of artists and bands in German music and in the polka music field. Both as a waltz and as a polka. Its even played at some Oktoberfests.
