Rock and rap are usually shown as being complete opposites, but have roots in common. Both derived from African blues; however, as rock grew out to a faster, louder sound continuing the tradition of full music with heartfelt lyrics, rap developed underground, gaining popularity on a non-mainstream sense. Now, rock sees rap as having no musical quality. Why?
This is partly due to focus. Rock usually focuses on three things: feelings, beat, and tune; sometimes, the tune is almost more important than the lyrics (i.e., They Might Be Giants' "Don't Let's Start"). Rap, on the other hand, focuses more on feelings and beat than tune. Rock lovers miss the tune and thus resent the rap.

Isn't it funny that about 95% of rap nowadays is stolen from other forms of music? I'd say at least 1 out of 5 rap songs has either a rock, jazz or funk sample in it somewhere. There are very few rap 'artists' who can make their own ORIGINAL music. Without being able to do that, most rap becomes Weird Al music... someone else's talent with different words.

I grew up with Hip Hop and listened to it since the late 70's. But I'm sorry, what is now called Hip Hop is nothing but garbage. Idiots talking, bragging, and arguing about record labels? That is f****** retarded. Or what about glorifying drugs, foul lifestyles, and violence. That's wack. And then there's the idiot rappers who average a 2year career span, bragging about putting half their income into their grill. That is some seriously ignorant ****!
And on top of that, Hip Hop geniuses such as Rakim, KRS One, Chuck D, Guru, Wise Intelligent, etc, get overshadowed by knuckleheads like Tupac and Biggie? Those morons are adored, worshipped and even called "prophets" by ignorant little kids who weren't even out of diapers when the two assholes died!
And lastly, as someone who actually experienced the real Hip Hop, let me tell you that originally, people started the whole culture because it was a cheap way for artistic expression, for people who had no formal musical training. A lot of that has changed now, yet most of today's artist still insist on sampling and looping other artist's material.
Incidentally, I know a lot more rock heads who are open to quality Hip Hop, than rap fans who are open to quality Rock.

Because 1. They type like you do. 2. It takes no talent, half of it is remixed as much as briteny spears. 3. You have no instruments. 4. It has no structure and most people just make things up as they go along. 5. They call women "ho's" constantly. 6. Last one. Most people that like rap hate rock. That's why.

a number of the bands you suggested like slipknot, paramore, fall out boy shouldn't additionally be categorized as Rock nor metallic through fact they are poser metallic (fake metallic). although, you're very precise approximately Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer. you're additionally very precise that we would desire to in basic terms bash pop and rap through fact they are definitely the worst.
