Rabits live approximatly 10 years if properly cared for.

Depending on how well you take care of it, domesticated rabbits can live between 5 and 10 years. Mine were 5 and 6 when they passed away. The one I have now is 2 years old so I anticipate her being with me a while longer.

Well, not wishing to worry you unduly... rabbits have a 'habit' of dying suddenly without warning. That is what I have heard and what happened to my daughter's rabbit a few years ago. That rabbit was treated like one of the family. No cage... only for sleeping overnight.
