I think you are absolutely right. I don't even watch Major League Steroidball (formerly known as baseball) anymore because of people like Bonds and McGuire. To me Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth will always be the home run kings! And as far as I know, the only drug Ruth took was beer. And lots of it!!

While i also think Barry Bonds used steroids i do think however think that it's very unfair that he's the only one they are going after when Rafael palmero blantantly lied in Congress that he didnt use drugs(& was caught months later) if they going to go after Bonds go after all of them that did the same thing. I know that we are living in a different time period but people also tend to forget that when babe Ruth was playing & was known as someone who drank beer & ate hot dogs what is forgotten here is during that time alcohol was illegal (Prohibition period) but yet nobody says that Ruth should be removed from the Hall Of fame.

he cant go into the hall of fame right now anyway because hes still playing. actually, everyone hates barry bonds, barely anyone thinks hes great. how many steroid tests has barry failed? 0. there is no proof that he took them, but because of his personality everyone pins it all on him. bonds is the best player since willie mays he deserves the hall of fame just like pete rose. the government is breaking the law trying to arrest him, they wont give up trying to convict him even though theres no proof. if he gets arrested it will be the governments worst decision since when michael jackson was tried as innocent

As long as MLB operates out of the USA, until he is proven guilty, there is nothing MLB can do about it. If the perjury case goes against him or he turns up a failed test, then he will be banned from MLB just as Pete Rose was (a lifetime ban). The Hall of Fame is chosen by Baseball Sportswriters, so there is a good chance they will make sure he doesn't get in, as most of them have already decided he is guilty and will not vote for him.
Me personally, I believe he should be. He was a 3-time MVP as a skinny kid in Pittsburgh. The end of his career has seemed to be unbelievable, but baseball has been testing for a few years, and he has not been caught. I am waiting to see what the end result of his ongoing perjury case is. If he was lying, then of course I will then join the masses already yelling for the book to be thrown at him.

Barry Bonds should be in the Hall of Fame if he didn't do steroids. Nobody knows for sure if he did or not. Innocent until proven guilty.

Prior to last year (2005), there was no MLB rule on performance-enhancement, so by the dictionary's definition, BB hasn't cheated. Cheating is: a throwing a spit ball or defacing the ball in any way, other kinds of tamperiing w/ the equipment, putting sleeping pills in the opposition's water cooler, etc. Moreover, extra strength doesn't make the mediocre into home run hitters. It gives home run hitters extra reach. Finally, just taking shots doesn't give you extra strength. One still has to work out *hard*, to get as bulked up as BB is.
IMO, Hall of Fame, no asterisks.....

Don't misconceive that players in Babe Ruth's did not use supplements that gave them an unfair advantage. Steroids are not new. Athletes just started writing books about them. Trust me, in professional sports, ALOT of athletes try to get what ever edge they can.
