I hate it. It's the degeneration of language and I fear my IQ drops everytime I'm forced to read something written in those heiroglyphics.

well i use u alot because if i half to type an i.m. fast before the other person can get there idea in then u is better then spelling out the whole word (which really isnt that big) but like u have a nice a$$ that just takes way longer than regular, and true is just one more leter, and putting numbers into it just makes it more complicated, but yeah except for the letter u, i think that it is pretty stupid.

I personally don't understand everything Cyber.
I think its a case of 'I can't spell.......therefore I break it down and use.....My Phonics'
'my phonics' is understood as words that I know that MIGHT be possible for that word,
for example, TRU ..... a good speller knows that the E is silent and a bad speller doesn't.

Some people learned to type that way and they stick with it. Some people do it because their friends do it. Some people just can't spell regular english words,
i usually type in words but i use "lol" sometimes other than that i cant stand to type like that, but its not hard for me to read and understand if someone writes to me in that way.

No! I have used the a$$ one before, just because I didn't want to get reported for foul language. Other than that, I love words! (as if you couldn't tell). It always comes across as a little dumb to me, and I often wonder, "is that person a bad speller?" ;-)

Because they are lazy. it doesn't take too much time to write right. What really bothers to my is writing wrong words, changing letters. Perhaps I can not detect that easily in english. But in spanish I do, and I get tired of telling people to do it right.

I like to abbreviate some words, but I think it's kinda stupid to abreviate the whole thing!

I think exactly the same thing as you do!!! It's annoying...and it's not laziness, I wouldn't think, cause it seems much easier to me to type the words then typing numbers and dollar signs in the middle of a "sentence". :)

No it isn't just you, I agree. I think it is part lazyness, part trying to be cool. I also think that people don't spell as well as they used to so it is easier and you don't give away the point that you can't spell worth a crap.
Just my opinion.
