You must be joking surely? I hope you are taking precautions, because smoking and drinking heavily do affect sperm quality and can affect your chances of getting pregnant. If you are both serious about trying for a baby you should both stop drinking, or you should stop and he should seriously cut down and stop the cigarettes. I can't believe that in this day and age with all the information available about this stuff that there are people like you out there who either haven't a clue or are taking the micky.

It only takes one sperm. Most of the time not all of the semen will leak out. Think of all the men that are alcoholics and still have kids, so, no, heavy drinking is not likely to cause fertility problems in men, but he could have other hidden problems, and why, may I ask, if you know he hasa drinking problem would you want to have children with him anyway? My Grandfather was a drunk and he beat on his kids, including my father. Find someone that does not drink, or does not drink to excess if you want to have happy kids.

As far as I know, there is a connection between tobacco and fertility. Theoretically, it has been proved that a heavy smoker produces less spermatozoids. Less spermatozoids mean less posibilities of getting you pregnant and less density of the sperm which would make it more runny.
I don't know about alcohol, but it's logical to think that, as alcohol and tobacco undermine the patient's health in many fields, it may have an influence.

Makes him think he's a stud while in reality he has more trouble getting engorged and staying that way than if he didn't drink heavily or smoke a lot. he probably has more trouble finding a partner because of the way he smells. As far as the quality of the semen being able to cause pregnancy, there is little change between a non-smoker/drinker and one who does.

It'll be much harder to get pregnant and a greater danger of birth defects. The booze reduces the sperm count drastically as well as causes the production of malformed or mutated sperm.

first thing is if you both think something is wrong with him... have him checked out by a doctor. sperm is surposed to be a little runny at least.. depends on how often its done. i dont think drinking causes sexual problems but it causes liver damgage. as for smoking? if it is drugs its dangerous it can decrease the chances of pregnant.. as from what ive heard.

It reduces the sperms mobility. If your trying to conceive, get him to give up the fags and drink for a while!

If he drinks too much...all the little sperm get verrrrrrry drunk, get lost, and lose their way. And you know how hard it is for men to stop and ask for directions........
