Problem With Active X?

Sometime I get a message saying "Click to run an Active X control on this page." most of the time when I click it, the page shuts down. Whats causing this and how can I stop it?

the active x control of a website is a small program that allows data to be transfered in order to run corectly-such as flash player etc... some of the active x controls can be distructive.so make sure you knw what active control it is wanting to load. update your active x controls by going to microsoft.com and reloading your active x controls. that should fix most of the prblems.but if the page is corruptive it may be shutting down because of your firewall or anti virus software.
