Cut off the dead blooms and trim it back a little. mine always bloom again when I do that

In the spring cut dead foilage to the ground. As the plant sprouts, pinch the tops every two weeks. Stop pinching by July 4 and enjoy abundance of flower every fall.

Dead heading can prolong blooming, but otherwise, just keep leggy growth trimmed back to encourage compact growth in preparation for next season.

Just keep them watered. If they are planted in the ground and they die in winter don't let them fool ya, they may look dead but keep them watered you be surprized to see them come back in spring/summer.
