Buy him things that are ok to throw like a ball. Then teach him it is ok to throw the ball but not other things.

That is a start.

Tell him that "We don't throw things" and then give him a ball to roll back and forth.

He is still doing things to see what kind of reaction he can get out of you and others. Do not yell at him, or laugh the first time he does it. Make sure you tell him right off that "We don't throw things".

She does it because of the reaction she gets. When someone has something thrown at their face all kinds of exciting things happen; shrieking, flinching, blinking, arms moving, body jerking, hair moving...for a baby it's the same as someone animatedly playing with them.

The next time she does it try to react as little as possible, frown so that she knows you're not having a good time, say "ow" so she knows that what she's doing can hurt, and redirect her "play" by showing her what she can do that is fun for everyone.

well my guess is that the first time he/she threw something, the one he/she threw it at had a funny reaction... that and everyone laughed .. so this pleased the baby... give a little smack of the hand or say NO each time it happens and let the baby know it is not acceptable..

because he or she is 11 months old i have two kids and at that age they just don't know any better. just keep explaining that it isn't nice and soon the baby will understand.

cause it's a game and it's fun. whenever it happens quietly say that's not nice, or no, do not do that and it should work eventually. i had the same problem with my son and i tried the same with him and now he has stopped.
