I customized a lot of my jeans. Some looked cool, some looked stupid (got thrown away).
For the first try, it is best to "customize" something old, so if you screw up, you can throw it away. Also, any holes or patches look more natural on old jeans. On new jeans they look exactly like the Scissorhands' doing.
What worked well was stitching with the sewing machine. My favorite jean started to fall apart in the pocket area, where my keys usually are. So I covered that area with zigzag stitching. And then I added a couple more stitched areas randomly, in the leg area. Hmm, but that only if you or your mom has a sewing machine...
If no sewing machine, you can do patches by hand. Cut out a hole (or find existing one). Pull out 3-4 threads at every edge of it, for the "ripped" effect. Put a patch underneath. Attach at the edges of the patch to jean fabric. Attach the edge of the jean fabric to the patch, but leave those "ripped effect" threads hanging.
Well, I did a lot of other things like rhinestones and needlepoint, but I suspect you're guy, and I wouldn't recommend it for a guy.

Yes I have customises my jeans and my brother does that all the time...What I did, was to use watercolors for textile and draw on the back pockets...I drew a flower...
My brother used pumice (a special kind of stone) to make his jeans' color fade in places...he also made draw on his jeans the logo of his favorite club...It was cool...Personally I'm not into cutting...there must be other ways to make a jean look worn out (like that with the stone)...
and...why don't you check this question out...http://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=1006060204220

customizing jeans is a cool way to go. If you have an artistic ability do it. those who don't like it, don't have to look at you. How do you think so many fashion designer make money. all they do is take an idea and change it or add to it. Just do it. it it makes you feel like great inside, and you've done a good job. that's all that counts.

My infant became in basic terms 2 weeks previous the 1st time she became on the fireworks. She slept top via all of it so needless to say the noise did no longer difficulty her one bit. Theres a threat that it might scare your infant considering you could no longer clarify something to them approximately whats occurring yet maximum toddlers i've got ever ordinary love them. basically confirm you're in a gap the place you may get out of there if your infant gets scared besides the undeniable fact that it is going to be high quality.

its a lot of fun customizing your jeans and even jean jackets. i embroidered a really cool design on my jean jacket and it looks awsome. u can take spray paint and paint your name on your jeans, heck, u can do anythin u want with your jeans. try using sandpaper to get than worn look on knees of your jeans, but i would avoid cutting holes, it looks kinda cheap and messy. but thats just me. but have fun with decorating your jeans.

You don't have to put holes in them.Alot of girls round here let people sign them or just put funny jokes or random sayings. One of my friends laid her jeans out flat and put dots of bleach on them. They turned out awsome. You could probably even write your name with the bleach.

Try buying jeans w/Pre-made holes. Making them your-self will not look good @ all! Abercrombie.com has hot jeans, so does ae.com (American Eagle)
