On the sims 2 how do you play with downloaded sims?

I downloaded some houses and sims from the sims2.com, so how do I use them?

You have to install them into the sims by saving them on your desktop.After they are saved double-click on them. A blue window should pop, in the window scoll down to the bottom, there should be a button that says install.Just click and your ready to go.your sims can be found in the family bin and your houses can be found in the houses bin.

If you have downloaded stuff into your game, you're only limited to your imagination how to use them. :)

Maybe you mean how to get the stuff to show up? If so..

First, you must have the Sims 2 on your computer. If you do, then the houses and the sims will automatically trigger a window to open that will install into your game. It's pretty automatic.

If you still have problems with that, another way to get content into your game from the Exchange is to play your game while your computer is online and then while you are in a neighborhood that you want to install some content into (enter Strangetown for example) - in the blue controls on the left, click on the asterisk, say yes to connect to Sims2.com

Then browse around in the little window. BE SURE that when you select something for download, that you only pick stuff that is compatible with the Expansions that you already have.

After you download the stuff compatible with your game, the things should be in your game and you do not have to restart.

If you download stuff from other sites, you need to restart your game before they show up. Sometimes if things do not show up, it is because there was custom content requiring a mesh, or there was some content for an Expansion pack that you do not have yet.

I don't have all the EPs yet, so it can be frustrating when some of the coolest stuff requires that one EP I don't have. :p

You need Sim creator. Then you just download the face, open the face, and then you can use them. Same thing with the clothes.
