Well I think that you should buy the book: What to expect the first year, It is awesome, and a big help!

Warming up the baby's formula is a pain in the neck, your warming it and he is screaming his head off. Warming the milk helps them to digest the formula, without causing gas. It also helps sooth them and that is why when you are done feeding they get real drowsy and sleepy.

For instance if you make a 4 ounce bottle and he only drinks two, I heard that what you can do is pour the formula in a clean bottle and put it in the fridge. Because something to do with the bacteria on the unclean nipple can cause stomach viruses, and even real bad diareah.

You don't absolutely have to warm her formula, it's not going to hurt if you don't. That said, though, the reason you warm it is to make it more natural for her. Babies were born to breastfeed, and as breastmilk comes from inside a human body, it's naturally warm. Yet another reason breastfeeding is easier, no bottle warming! LOL If she's only a month old, there's a good chance you could relactate, which would obliterate the constant need to warm a bottle, especially in the middle of the night when you just want to sleep. You might consider it, it's good for her good for you....But, as for warming a bottle when she has it, I very rarely would actually warm my son's bottles, I found it to be a huge pain in the butt. I would make the formula with warm water right when he was ready to drink it. If I was going out, I put the bottle in one of those insulated bottle carriers the hospital gives you with the free diaper, and filled the bottle with hot water. By the time he was ready to drink it, it was just warm. Don't warm in the microwave, not only can you damage the bottle, or on some bottles, heating them in the microwave actually makes them release toxins from the plastic they're made of. But it also kills some of the good stuff in both formula and breastmilk, and can have hot spots as well. Resulting in a burnt baby tongue, Ouch!

As for saving the leftovers, very bad idea. Dumping the leftovers from the used bottle to a clean one doesn't solve the problem since the bacteria is in the milk. Dump it down the sink and start fresh next time. For this same reaosn, you're never supposed to feed babyfood directly from the jar, if you do, throw out the leftover when you're done.

Most children won't drink cold milk as it is a shock to their system. Formula is supposed to be at body temperature so it is easy on the baby.

Once a baby's mouth touches the bottle of formula it must be used within 1 hour or you have to throw the formula out. The reason for this is bacteria will begin to form which can cause your baby to become sick.

If you are worried about heating up the formula, ask your pediatrician if it is okay to use tap water. I breastfed my daughter but had to supplement with a bottle because I didn't produce enough milk. At her 2 month check up I asked when I could stop boiling the water and the pediatrician said there was no need to boil it at all since tap water in most areas is very safe, and he said we had very good water in our area. He told me just to use warm water from that tap which makes life so much easier!

Go and read the back of the formula can. If the baby does not finish all of the formula...you throw it away. Always follow directions on food labels especially when dealing with babies.

It also states the milk can be either warm under warm tap water or room temperature.

Next time you take her to her pediatrician which should be in a month for her 2 month shots and check up ask your pediatrician and he or she will tell you the same thing.

You don't have to warm it unless you have had it in the fridge. Sometimes babies won't take it unless it is warm...depends on the baby. If you notice that the baby is gassier or has stomach aches it might be a good idea to warm it. Dr.'s don't recommend giving a baby a bottle if they have already drank from it, but I always did unless it had been sitting there for more than a couple of hours. Formula is expensive there is no since in wasting it. It never bothered my son.

I keep the Nursery Water on the counter and mix the powder formula into it room temp. and give it to my son. I only warm it up if it has been in the fridge from an earlier feeding that wasn't finished. Yes you can use the formula later if it's not finished all at once, just put it in the fridge.

No you should not give your baby left over formula. Their saliva contaminates the formula left in the bottle and bacteria can grow once it's been heated and doesn't stop growing/multiplying if its re-refridgerated.

You don't have to warm a baby's bottle it's preference on your part and your baby's. I ALWAYS warmed mines formula and her now her MILK because it's soothing to her and it's easier to drink larger quanities when it's warm.

Warm formula/milk also helps my daughter settle down for nite nite.

Do you like drinking cold cold milk out of the fridge? Can you drink it fast? or does it give a icecream headache when you drink it fast?

When it comes to doing for your child always put yourself in her shoes.

All 3 of my kids were different. My oldest liked her's warmed, my middle drank her's however I gave it to her and my youngest would only drink his room temperature. What I did was when I got done feeding him I would sit the next bottle out and it would be room temp by the time he was ready to eat again. A cold bottle I would think would give them a brain freeze like ice cream does to us. And about giving them a bottle they previously drank, why not. Formula is so expensive don't waste it. Good luck and give your little one a kiss, they are precious when they are babies.

YES OR YOU'LL HAVE A VERY COLICKY BABY . THEIR LITTLE TUMMY'S CAN'T TAKE COLD DRINKS . SET THE BOTTLE IN HOT WATER FOR ABOUT 10 MINS. THIS WILL BE WARM ENOUGH FOR THE BABY . FORMULA SHOULD BE THE SAME TEMP. THAN THAT OF BREAST MILK .
