Dove softens, use as little as possible.

Any soap removes natural skin oil and may cause dryness. Pat your skin dry and apply moisturizer while still damp.

I use only Vaseline and baby lotion and I am ALWAYS complimented on how soft, smooth and firm my skin is.

Go to a world market and check out olive oil soap. It has no sulfates in it. Sulfates are in your dish soap, so imagine how damaging it is to your skin!! Anyways, this olive oil soap is pretty much a miracle worker. You can use it on your body, hands, and even hair! It's a traditional recipe. You can also get it from middle eastern stores.

Or, before you step in the shower, massage dry spots on your body with warm olive oil, or coconut oil or almond oil or vitamin E oil. These are all really good for your skin!! And, the person that said to try only water is a really wise one! Water and a wash cloth goes a long way.

Just stay away from the zest. That stuff really drys you out.

Johnson makes a body wash with baby lotion in it. It is great and leaves you feelilng very soft. I have found that most any body wash will leave a softer skin than bar soap. I have been using body wash for years now, being I have very dry skin. Try the Johnson&Johnson body wash with lavander in it, it is great. Note: its not a baby body wash, you will find it in the section with all the other washes, most likely. Let me know how you like it!

Lots of soaps leave you squeaking,
TRY DOVE!!!!
Its formula has a milky, gentle, mild feel, and leaves your skin very soft and smooth, I use this one for my body.
I use the others for hands!
Go to Bath-and-Body Works, they have tons on wonderful smelling and comfy soaps. (I love Mango Madness... $3)
Good luck!

Instead of soap, use a moisturizing body wash. Follow with a really creamy lotion every time you bathe. That's what I've been doing longer than you are old and I get compliments on my smooth skin all the time.

If you are taking a bubble bath use Dreft laundry detergent. It may sound wierd but a doctor recommended it and our family has been using it for years. It is a really mild detregent for baby clothes. It makes your skin really, really smooth. I don't care for soaps because they really dry out my skin so I use body wash from Bath and Body Works. I swear by the Dreft though. Try it!

Dove bar soap works great on me. Even my face. I stop breaking out when I use it and it keeps my skin soft.
