Who should recieve this distinguished award? Problem is, I can't think of a Brit that's done anything this year, except one. That'll be ref Graham Poll's outstanding performance in the World Cup - in giving out the same player 3 yellow-cards in the same game. Hilarious. Anyone else want to vote for him? The man's a genius.

David Walliams for swimming the channel puts all those greedy so called sports stars to shame !

Apparently the favourite for the BBc Sports Personality of the year is that David Walliams (the thin one with hair from Little britain) for swimming across the Channel. The embarassing thing for British sport this year is that he deserves it.

I'm not voting for an overpaid prat who has as much sense as a sack of potatoes.
There is a growing movement to get David Walliams nominated.
Yes, I know he is a comedian, but he trained for over 11 months to swim the channel - a feat few sportsmen have ever done - and he raised £1million for charity to boot!

i suppose no one deserves this award really, but i hope it goes to Steven Gerrard
1. for his motivation and goals in the FA Cup final
2.being England's top scorer and one of the few players to do OK in the W.C
3. for what ever he does in the start of the 06/07 season ~ he's bound to do something
but this yr British sport has been abysmal!

I heard that someone was saying that it should be David Walliams for his English Channel swim, but the only thing is that he's not a sportsman/woman... oh dear just shows you the strength in depth of British sport.
