By the way, the French are very finicky about changing words to French words. They do not like mongrel words in their language.

Actually, it means "do you want to sleep with me tonight." However, it's incorrect as far as French grammar is concerned. "Coucher" (the verb "to sleep") is a reflexive verb and is actually "se coucher." When you translate it, it's "I me sleep, you you sleep, he he sleep," etc.

So the song should acutally be "voulez-vous SE coucher avec moi se soir."

If you listen to the song "Lady Marmalade," it's about prostitutes in New Orleans.

literally "would you lay with me this evening"
i.e. "would you sleep with me tonight?"

or in Australian (or so I am told) "How's about it Sheila?"
