None that I can think of.
In fact, many jobs discourage a beard because it increases the risk for harm! Jobs involving moving parts like an assembly line can be bad if there is much length to the beard.
Also, consider that while beards offer some intial protection from chemical splashes to the face...it also tends to hold the chemicals near the skin longer!
Other than shielding some rays from the sun...I can't think of much "protection" a beard would offer...oh, wait, hiding your identity is another plus! :)

Yes. Some men get an infection under the chin when they have. The beard is protection against that. It is also protection in cold weather.

I'm not certain why evolution would advantageously maintain a beard on men. It's a very interesting questions, however.
