Why do people in car commericals say you won't get a lemon
and people say "a lemon in life" and things like that?

lemons are sour...theefore if used in such a context as you dont want to buy a lemon (refering to a car) its referring to a "sour" deal

sour? bitterness? My mom had a 'lemon' for a car damn thing broke down all the time... said it left a sour taste in her mouth..lol
