sounds like braxton hicks contractions. nothing to worry about -- just the body gearing up for childbirth. i had them for almost a month before i actually gave birth. she'll know when the real thing kicks in. good luck to you both!!!

How does your wife feel? Is she experiencing any pain or other unusual symptoms? The hardness could be due to some premature contractions. If she's really upset about it, she should call her doctor. He or she may want to check your wife to make sure everything is okay with the pregnancy. And take it easy, dad-to-be -- babies are born every minute, and this has been going on for thousands of years. Don't freak out at every little thing you may think is unusual. Check with the doctor instead. And help your wife look forward to the new arrival. Congrats!

Yes I agree with everyone that they are contractions but unless they are regular and getting painful, no need to rush to the hospital yet.

As far as the snot... the mucous plug slowly drips away the last few weeks... you have heard someone is 1 cm dialated etc... it is the dilation happening. It is normal for her to walk around a few centimeters dialated and no contractions. Just have her wear pantiliners and change often so that bacteria doesn't form and cause potential issues with the delivery.

Congrats and good luck dad!

The stomach gets hard at the top of the fundus when having contractions, even if they are braxton hicks.

I am not trying to be smart but, the baby also could have moved positions and you are now feeling their back or bum!

Good luck!!

It could be the mucous plug coming out. She is far enough along to deliver soo...it could be about time. The "hardening" of the stomach could be contractions. Is she having pains with it? I know I had that happen a couple times but didn't know what it was. I was in my 39th week so it's possible she is getting ready to deliver.

That means that the uterus is contracting. There's not a whole lot of space for baby, and when it moves, somethings gotta give. The uterus is just contracting....it's when it's accompanied by pain, that's when it's time to do some business! Good luck and congrats!!!

Probably Braxton Hicks, unless there are other things going on. Happen to me at the end of both of my pregnancies.

could be contractions, if its painful, if not it may be braxton hicks contractions which are just her body practicing. Time them and write them down because it may be the real thing and dr will want to see the pattern.

Well, Was she having morning sickness?
Was she really irritable and afterward she
appoligised?

Was she sleeping on her side every night?

Was she having hot flashes every now and

If you said yes to every one of these,
She's pregante!

I know this cause I went through this 7 months ago!
