I love the initial episodes of "AI." You know -- the auditions and tryouts where the most grossly untalented dregs of America who think they can really sing make complete idiots of themselves. After that "AI" gets very boring to me -- especially the cheesy group numbers....but "SYTYCD" has kept my attention glued all season long. The dancing is hot like fire, the energy is infectious, the clothes and makeup are beautifully done, and the choreography is "off the chain." It makes me want to get back into dance class. I think this is a much better and more entertaining show and I hope it continues to grows in popularity. I hear they will be back for a 3rd season. Yay!!!!

Without a doubt, SYTYCD is way better. I don't even watch AI. Contestants for both shows have to have talent and discipline, but dancers have to work way harder in my opinion. They have to work their entire bodies intensely throughout the week, get their timing, choreography, footwork and partnership down to a science AND feel the music and express that feeling artistically. Whew! I feel tired just describing that--now imagine what its like to have to practice the same practically impossible Mia Michaels movement over and over--or perform Argentine tango without accidentally kicking your partner where it hurts most---or trusting that your partner's going to be able to lift you up and swing you around without dropping you!

Plus, there's the risk of injury, either to your self or to your partner that dancers have to deal with not just in each performance, but even in rehearsal. The stakes are higher--any injury could potentially sideline a career in dance permanently. That's why SYTYCD is truly a blend of art and sport--and full of excitement and heart-stopping moments.

I'm definitely looking forward to a 3rd season, and I'm sure there will be many, many more!

Definitely way better than American Idol. The judges have a say in who goes into the bottom 4 as compared to American Idol where the judges have no say whatsoever. So the talented ones always get voted out in that sense and that's unfair.

I don't! I like American Idol at the very start of it when they show the people who THINK they can sing. When they go back to Hollywood i stop watching until the last show to see who wins.
