Nathans are the best. Good flavor and everything, which is why they're the ones who sponsor that world champion hot dog eating contest.

I'd say Cupid's or Pink's here in Los Angeles, California.
I once ate a hot dog right next to Jon Stewart at Pink's... they are soo good.
Cupid's are really great and sometimes on selected holidays (this past 4th of July, for example) they run an all day $0.29 hot dogs (limit 5 per customer).
It's awesome.

Buffalo, of course, Sahlen's are the best. I have a friend who took twenty pounds to his home in Florida. The response from his friends and neighbors was overwhelming. He returned with a hundred pounds and sold individual hot dogs (cooked with bub, etc) from his bass boat on a river, selling out in a single weekend. Big bucks and great dogs. People all over can't seem to get enough of them. Sahlen's Hot Dogs in Western new York. I personally guarantee them. They are the perfect size, the perfect flavor, yum yum. Nice and juicy, perfect size for a bun, and when you grill them, delicious is too weak a word.

Zenner's All-Meat Franks Rock! Yes, usually you'd think All-Beef is better but these guys have a high ratio of Beef and just a touch of Pork that makes them different. They also have the "Snap" factor when you bite into one and be careful not to get shot with juice as these things always seem to blow like a geiser on your first bite. They are all over the West Coast but I don't know how far east they distribute them to.

For many years, Vienna's chief rival was the Kosher Zion hot dog ...
I tend to look on the package to see what are the contents. I avoid any which are mixed pork and beef, or pork.
Visit your grocer and read the labels on the packages. Travel a bit and see other grocery stores and ranches. Hot dogs are really not my preferred food, but now you got me curious.

Brightleaf Hotdogs. They are a southern favorite. Their slightly spicy like a redhot. No, they aren't mushy either. The cook well on a grill, best flavor this way, or fried in butter. This brand is best in 'Carolina' style hotdog, all the way with coleslaw, chili the works piled on. Boiled in butter is good to with Paul's Place relish. Paul's Place if its still in business is hotdog heaven in Rocky Point, NC.

Deitz and Watson. Good and meaty, nice, plump and juicy. But don't even think about putting that disgusting yellow mustard on them. That should be outlawed. Dijon mustard is best on a D&W doggie.
Damn it, now I'm getting hungry again.
