Certainly the speed of light is faster than the speed of sound.
Light travels through air at a speed of approximately 300 000 000 m/s or 299,792,458 m/s to be exact; whereas the speed of sound is dependent on temperature, at 21 degrees C (70°F), you should get 344 meters per second, or 1129 ft per second. At freezing, the numbers are 331 m/s or 1087 ft/s. This explains why the speed of light is faster than the speed of sound.

Light. It is the universal speed limit, nothing that we know of travels faster, currently anyway.
While we are not even CLOSE to achieving light speed, we have had multiple planes which have broken the sound barrier and multiples of it... when they say "Mach speed" that means the speed of sound. So Mach 1 is the speed of sound, Mach 2 is two times the speed of sound and so forth.

The speed of light is faster.Experience:If someone turns a switch to on,the power will appear on time no matter where the electric lamp is,wherever on the globe, while when there is a sound we must wait for feedback.Experience : when someone cries at a distance from someone else that takes a bit to catch the sound.I'm also agree it could be a matter of situation ,depending where we are: at sea,on land,in the air.

the speed of light (300.000km/s)... Nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, but a lot of things are traveling faster than the speed of sound (about 330m/s)...
